Social Responsibility Event Adnan Menderes Nursing Home Visit

As the Department of Electricity and Energy of Balıkesir University Balıkesir Vocational School, we carried out a meaningful social responsibility event to support our students in becoming socially sensitive, helpful and aware individuals.

On November 18, 2025 , we visited the Adnan Menderes Nursing Home, an Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center affiliated with the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, spending time with our valued elders and volunteering to assist with some of the home's electrical maintenance and repair needs. Our students instilled morale and motivation in the residents by chatting, listening, and spending time together.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Nursing Home Director, Mr. Mehmet Şenerol , and the Assistant Director, Ms. Ayşe Atalay, for their contributions to this special event and their warm welcome . We are also grateful to all the nursing home staff for their cooperation and support .

We would also like to thank our students who wholeheartedly participated in the event; our technicians, Hüseyin Güngör and Hakan Özbabalık, who contributed to the efficient running of the event; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Çıtak and Instructor Metin Gül for their technical and academic support. We also extend our gratitude to Mr. İlgen Coşkun, owner of Aren Kozmetik ve Parfümeri San. Tic. Ltd. Şti., for supporting our event and for providing cologne and eyeglass cleaning supplies to our nursing home residents. We will continue to conduct such activities that increase social awareness.
