Peer Programs of Balıkesir and Yalova Vocational Schools' Electricity and Energy Departments Met at the Vocational Education Forum
The Forum on Current Approaches in Vocational Education, hosted by Balıkesir University, provided an important platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration on the future of vocational education. During the forum, academic staff and students from the Electricity and Energy Department of Balıkesir Vocational School and its peer program, the Electricity and Energy Department of Yalova Vocational School, came together to exchange knowledge and experiences.
Representing the Electricity and Energy Department of Balıkesir Vocational School, Associate Professor Hakan Çıtak, Lecturer Metin Gül, and their students presented their work to the participants. The Electricity and Energy Department of Yalova Vocational School also took part in the forum with the participation of Department Chair Associate Professor Alevay Gülenay Kılıç and her students, who shared their projects and experiences.
Throughout the forum, the two departments exchanged views on quality assurance processes in vocational education, student-centered practices, industry collaborations, and accreditation studies. Bringing together two programs operating in similar educational fields created valuable opportunities for future joint projects, academic activities, and institutional collaborations.
Organized to contribute to the development of vocational education and strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, the forum also enhanced communication and collaboration between peer programs. The Electricity and Energy Departments of Balıkesir Vocational School and Yalova Vocational School expressed their mutual willingness to continue working together in ways that support the academic and professional development of both students and faculty members.
