An event on XR (Extended Reality) technologies was successfully held on April 21, 2026, for students of the Electrical Program within the Department of Electricity and Energy at Balıkesir University Balıkesir Vocational School.

The event featured Ozan Kırcı, who serves as Lead Trainer Specialist – EMEA at GE Vernova, and was met with strong interest from students.

During the program, the applications of virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR) technologies in the energy sector were discussed in detail. In particular, the advantages of these technologies were emphasized, such as enabling high-risk operations to be learned in safe environments, enhancing the understanding of complex technical processes, and providing flexibility in education.

The event also introduced VR-based training modules developed for industrial systems such as wind turbines. Students were shown how maintenance, troubleshooting, control systems, and safety procedures can be carried out in virtual environments.

Through this event, students had the opportunity to closely explore emerging educational technologies in the increasingly digitalized energy sector and to evaluate their theoretical knowledge from a practical perspective.
