The "From Transformer to Career: Industry Meeting Day" event was held on February 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM in Amphitheater C201, in collaboration with Balıkesir University Vocational School, Department of Electrical and Energy, and BEST A.Ş. Organized to strengthen student-industry interaction, support practical training, and contribute to career planning processes, the event saw high participation.

As part of the program, Gürkan Can, Production Manager of BEST A.Ş. DT&KT, gave a comprehensive presentation on transformer application areas, technical infrastructure, and production stages. Technical information about factory testing processes was also shared.

Within the scope of the event , the 630 kVA, 33 kV / 400 V voltage level, Dyn11 connection group, ONAN cooling type three-phase oil-filled distribution transformer, which was modernized by BEST A.Ş. for educational purposes and added to our department, was introduced to our students.

Students had the opportunity to examine field applications such as transformer label reading, power and current calculation, short-circuit voltage interpretation, cooling type analysis, HV-LV bushing structures, tap adjustment, Buchholz relay, and temperature monitoring through real industrial equipment. This application provided a significant educational contribution by supporting the theoretical course content with concrete field components.

In the second part of the event, Human Resources Manager Zafer Mizan and Human Resources Specialist Oğuzhan Kılıç provided assessments on career planning processes in the sector for electrical technicians, internship and employment opportunities, and the importance of production and field experience. Students had the opportunity to receive information directly from industry representatives about their post-graduation career paths.

The meeting also yielded important outcomes in terms of the curriculum development process with external stakeholder contributions. It was decided to strengthen the application dimension of the Electrical Machines I and Electrical Energy Transmission and Distribution course content by incorporating production processes, test applications, and field operations (HV-LV bushing change, tap adjustment, Buchholz relay, temperature monitoring, etc.). Furthermore, it was deemed appropriate to include the analysis of factory test reports within the course content and to enhance learning outcomes such as label reading, power and current calculations under the heading "Transformer Technical Analysis".

At the end of the event, it was decided that sector integration would be continued at regular intervals and that cooperation in internship/employment processes would be maintained.
